Turning 30

I am now in my last week as a twenty something yuppie. Next Tuesday I will no longer be able to say that I am in my twenties. So what does turning 30 actually mean? Is it really just a meaningless number? What was I doing 10 years ago?

I decided to turn to my trusty Internet and google "turning 30". First of all "google" is not something I would have said 10 years ago. Anyway, I was suprised to see so much written on the subject of turning 30. OK, I wasn't that suprised I'm sure every subject imaginable has be written about on the Internet.

The past decade has been pretty busy. I didn't even know Shannon when I turned 20 now we're married and living in our second home. I graduated from University, got a job at JetForm who changed their name to Accelio who then got bought by Adobe. I also managed to travel to places such as Costa Rica, Cuba, Greece and Germany.

So now that I am on the brink of turning 30 what will change? Probably not a lot. I'll still have a wife, home, job and a great group of friends. I still plan on travelling as much as possible. But, I am also looking forward to the opportunity of having new experiences.

Turning 30 won't be that bad. It is just another number but does provide a time to at least look back and realize that living life is all about what you put into it. As long as I keep a sense of adventure along with a positive outlook in everything I do all my experiences will be great no matter what age I am.
